10:00 am - Bit of a slow start this morning. Half wokeup during
a nightmare, decided to hold on to it since it had demons and
the like. Turned it into more of an art film experience. I'll
be posting images as I complete them. I'm hoping to get it all
together by 10 tomorrow morning.
6:00 pm - Worked, took a beak for lunch, having
trouble focusing. I've been sketching layouts I plan to render
in marker on bristol
board. I'm about half done with those right now.
8:30 pm - I'm very happy with several of the
page layouts. But since I'm going to be printing this book I
need to rework some of them. I don't mind having a page with
just characters on it, as that is something traditional picture
books do. The problem I'm having is they're starting to look
like talking heads with no dialogue. At this stage I'm trying
to draw out and develop the figures, but I don't want to spend
all my time on the layout and then crap out on the marker rendering.
Here are some of the more interesting images so far. I'll probably
get to the reworks by the weekend. Click thumbnails for larger
view.
Lil' Reaper Books' debut project is a
story entitled Waldo The Loneliest Demon. This full
color book tells the story of Waldo Demon, a hellspawn who
eventually becomes a guardian angel. The stages of the creative
process for this tale will be shown here, guiding you from
it's creation to it's release. Please come back soon to check
the status on this project.
